Olive oil Museum in Bucchianico, Abruzzo | Print |
If you are interested to know about Olive oil and the history behind it, there is no better place than Francesca di Nisio’s place name Cantinarte. If you are in the vicinities of Bucchianico, near Guardiagrele, Chieti or Pescara, it definitely worth a visit.

fotocantinarte.jpgFrancesca organizes a tour that is over an hour long and during this tour, you have the opportunity to see the old and original olive press that was operated by donkeys.
During the Olive oil Museum's tour, you will able to see a projected photo slide show, test your abilities with your nose and then do a sensory testing and sampling of some of the finest olive oils. Let me tell you something, once you come out of the museum you will know a whole lot about olive oil, plus you will be able to distinguish good olive oil just by smelling it.
It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone.
