This small town is perched on a mountain that faces the Aterno river with a striking natural backdrop of the Sirente-Velino regional Park.

WHAT TO SEE

The town contains a parish church of San Pietro and San Lorenzo and three naves, as well as a remarkable Renaissance doorway that dates from 1534, with a fresco of a little moon. Another excellent piece of work is the bapistry. Also to visit is the Renaissance fountain formed in the shape of an overturned bathtub and on the inside two stone masks. In the neighborhoods of Beffi and Roccapreturo one can visit the the rest of the medieval hamlet.

HISTORICAL FACTS
Of Lombard origin, Acciano still has, in the vicinity of the city center, fortified houses from the Middle Ages. The town, from the 14th century was given by Charles III of Durazzo (Albania) to the brother of the bishop of Aquila.

- 30-31 May: Feast of San Petronilla
- End of July: Festival of Arrosticini (roast meat), tartufo (truffles) and vino
- Pentecost: Feast of the Madonna of the Valley
- First Sunday of June: Feast of St Erasmus
- First Sunday of November: Fiera di Beffi (Fair of Beffi).
