HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
Canosa Sannita as a town dates back to the 9th century a.d. Some findings from the Byzantine era (6th century) were recently discovered in the area, and are now on display at the Abbey of Montecassino. The most famous building is the castle that used to belong to the Celaya (Spanish) feudal family. The second world war did a lot of damage to the structure of the town. Before that, this fortified town managed to resist many attacks by predators.
