Canosa Sannita is a small hill town near the Adriatic Sea, now popular for its production of olive oil and wine. Some findings from the Byzantine era (6th century) were recently discovered in the area, and are now on display at the Abbey of Montecassino. The most famous building is the castle that used to belong to the Celaya (Spanish) feudal family. The second world war did a lot of damage to the structure of the town.
