Not far from the lake of Campotosto, this town is found on the inside of the Gran Sasso national park.
The population of the town is less than eight hundred inhabitants, while the altitude is around nine hundred metres above sea level.

HISTORICAL FACTS

This town is an historical curiosity: this hamlet was a wedding gift for Filippo V Borbone.
It became a part of the fief of the Farnese, passing then under the Bourbons when Elisabetta Farnese married Filippo V di Borbone.

WHAT TO SEE

The town is situated in a beautiful position, it is possible to visit the parish church divided in three naves with a great octagonal dome; on the inside it has an organ from the Renaissance and an embossed silver cross of the school of Nicola da Guardiagrele.
