HISTORICAL INFORMATION
In the fifties, some findings determined that there were activities in this specific part of Abruzzo during the second century, therefore the neolitical ages.
Castrum Octaviani was mentioned in a document in 1087. The name of the town was Castellum Novum, then Castrum Novum, then in 1863, the name got changed due to a spelling mistake into Castel Frentano. This town was also levelled once by a mudslide and then major battles during the second world war created more destruction.
