Placed in the Roveto valley, in the vicinity of the Liri river, Civita d'Antino still conserves much of its past such as the enclosing walls of the town.
Placed in a dominating position over the Liri valley, the town still has many elements from its historical past: remaining to see is the parts of the polygonal wall from the 5th century BC. Of a more recent phase is the house where San Lidano Abate (1026-1118), the patron saint of Sezze Romano (a town in the province of Latina in the Lazio region) was born.

HISTORICAL FACTS
Civita D'Antino was an important city from the time of the Marsi (pre-Roman tribal people from which the Marsica gets its name) when it was known by the name of Antinum, which was the only municipium in the Roveto valley.
