Cupello is a small town near Vasto, situated on a small hill. It has always been an agricultural town, near the Sinello river. Being so close to Vasto, it has been growing thanks to the lower cost of living.

HISTORICAL FACTS
There are traces of this town even before the Roman Empire. As a matter of fact, Cupello was a major stop of the Transumanza. The transumanza is the movement of herds of sheep from the northern regions of Italy, down to the warmer southern climates, looking for greener pastures. These trips lasted 3 or 4 months and there were many scheduled stops. Cupello was one of them.
In the 15th century, the D’Avalos family of vasto, gathered all the refugee slaves and put them to work in Cupello to develop the agriculture in that specific area.
The soil in Cupello is particularly rich in iron, that is why there are great artichokes there.
