Gissi is located on a panoramic hill on the right of the Sinello river. The primitive nucleus of the hamlet was built right on a cliff.

HISTORICAL FACTS
There were mentions of the hamlet called Gissium in the year 1095 in some baronial manuscripts. The name Gissi comes from the latin word Gipsum which means plaster or chalk. The name was given to this hamlet was because it was built on this kind of material.
Italics were very present in this area, certified by the graves found in Colle Rovelizio, discovered in 1896.
