HISTORICAL FACTS
Archeological findings say that there was some kind of social life during the roman times thanks to the recovery of Roman era coins.
The town was founded around the Benedectine Abbey of San Barbato, built in 1015. It was then medieval times where the hamlet had to be fortified, therefore narrow streets and walls around town.  During the feudal times, it belonged to the Caldora family during the 15th century. Then it was passed to the Capua family and then to the D’Avalos of Vasto.
