San Salvo is located near Vasto. It is an industrialized town that hosts many factories in the automotive business and homes for factory workers. The town is also popular for agriculture such as olive groves, vineyards and many peach orchards.

HISTORICAL FACTS
The town is relatively new, founded in the early 1800s by Cistercians monks that built a Monastery that is no longer existing. But recent archaeological  findings, document the ancient origin of the site. The Church of San Giuseppe has a 12th century origin but it was later transformed. The small town’s origin was tied the Benedectine’s Monastery and the San Vito Abbey that was destroyed and ruind have been recovered in the San Vito quarter.
