San Vito Chietino is located on a hill that faces the sea with a fatastic view. The railway built in the late 1800s brought a lot of tourism, especially on the Adriatica statale road. Marina di San Vito has wonderful beaches that are very popular because they are so close to the main road.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
San Vito was first mentioned in the 1200s when it was a dependancy of the abey of San Giovanni in Venere.

WHAT TO SEE
Sitting on a spur, it offers a beatiful view out over the sea and the Maiella mountain. Inside the parish church of san Vito is a 14th century engraved silver cross. Also to be observed is the Murata Bassa which are the reamains of an old Roman port. Of course here, we can also admire the trabocco, which are old fishing houses that were built in the 1800s.
