Torrebruna is located on the hills of the Comunita' Montana of the Alto Vastese. The river trigno runs close to the town. Torrebruna is one of the many little mountain towns close to each other.



HISTORICAL INFORMATION
This town belonged to the area of the Samnites and many historical evidences were found to witness that. During the Benectine times, many monasteries were built and Torrebruna was one of teh locations. In the late 1200s, Torrebruna was mentioned in the writings of King Carlo d'Angio'. In the late 1300s the Caracciolo feud was established. Torrebruna was mentioned again un the late 1400s, during the d'Avalos feud. Through the years and many other feuds, finally Torrebruna, in the first decade of the 1800s managed to be free from feuds and people got their land back. There are many myths about the name of the town. Some of them say that the old name Torrebruna comes from a lady that lived in a tower named Bruna, therefore TorreBruna.
